The rumor started after SHINee and Super Junior didn't perform at the 2008 KBS Gayo Festival. Netizens were theorizing that the reason for this was because they were banned. They believe KBS got angry when TVXQ / DBSK skipped out on the KBS Gayo Festival to attend the Japanese events (TBS and NHK).
